DRAMA THERAPY

What is Drama Therapy?

DT webpage.png

Drama therapy is a therapeutic modality that uses embodied techniques to facilitate creativity, imagination, learning, insight and growth. It utilizes artistic expression to help explore emotions, improve self-awareness, and cope with psychological challenges such as trauma, depression, or anxiety. It is used with individuals, couples, families, and groups and in a wide variety of settings.

Drama therapists utilize multiple tools and techniques during sessions, including but not limited to, improvisation, theatre games, mask making, storytelling, art making, group play, writing, and enactment or performance. You do not need to be an actor/performer/someone with theatre experience to participate in drama therapy!

One-on-one supervision for mental health professionals

Our drama therapists collaborate with clients and groups to explore personal challenges through embodied creative expression. Our drama therapeutic techniques support personal development, creativity, emotional resilience, and overall well being.

Why should you book a session?

Our program supports the unique difficulties faced by those impacted by SUD. Drama therapy encourages participants to process challenging experiences and emotions through embodiment rather than verbal processing. The creative process allows multiple entry points for support and healing. Book a session to maintain your recovery, to process the challenges faced in the workplace, or simply to gain a deeper understanding of yourself.
